Position Role Type:

This is an hourly bargaining unit position within the engineering labs.  The area consists of pneumatic, hydraulic, hot fuel, and electronic labs that support Collins Aerospace customers and product.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work from charts, blueprints, manuals, specifications, procedures, and other instructions to plan and carry out various construction and maintenance tasks.
• Use various measuring and electrical instruments applicable to the specific function.
• Operate and maintain equipment, machines and tools relevant to function
• Perform periodic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating fixtures and equipment, adding fluids, changing filters and tightening fasteners.
• Document processes for variation.  Participate with groups in solving unusual work-related problems.
• Develop solutions that improve processes and resolve problems. Follow through with implementation.
• Order materials and supplies to maintain a steady flow of work
• Use basic computer screens such as data analysis, engineering labs inventory, and other inventory systems.
• Instruct one or two fellow employees in the proper performance of duties.
• Maintain detailed records
• Keep equipment and surrounding areas neat and clean
• Perform related duties as required within the scope of this job function

Basic Qualifications:

• 1-2 years related experience
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years maintenance experience
• TIG bench and field welding experience
• Welding certification/ schooling or a minimum 3 years welding experience

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader. 

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
