RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is seeking candidates to Intern as part of our engineering team at our home office in Dubuque, IA. As a member of our team, the selected candidates will work with our engineering staff to support highly engineered designs using state of the art tools.
This is an Internship position for the Summer of 2024 that could lead to additional opportunities within our organization for future employment.
Mechanical Engineering Intern
Job Description
The job duties for these positions are associated with a wide range of product development applications for current and new products, which include:
- Concept and develop of mechanical components and systems that may include multiple plastic processes, castings, stamped or laser cut parts, and welding or bonding
- Use 3-D Modeling software to create and assemble components
- Creation and support of 2-D drawings and specification documentation
- Attend product design review meetings.
- Support of prototype fabrication and/or construction
- Create Bill of Materials information, and other documentation for product release
Requirements
- Currently enrolled Junior or Senior in BSME or AG Engineering program at accredited College or University
- Ability to work on numerous tasks concurrently
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and commitments
- Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team
Desired Attributes
- Experience in 3-D Modeling Software; SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo
- Previous design, development, and fabrication or manufacturing experience
- Exposure to off-road, farming, or other mobile equipment
Compensation for this job will be based on the candidate's skills and experience level. Between $26 and $28 per hour.
