This position is not eligible for a remote work schedule - it is an onsite position.
Under general direction, the Mechanical Engineer Intern provides design efforts from conceptual level through final design in new and existing capital equipment used in food and fuel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide design efforts from conceptual level through final design in new and existing products for capital equipment used in food and fuel; ensure accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Work integrally with Engineers and Designers to provide most efficient design to meet the process requirements.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Education/Experience
- At least 2 years of completed Engineering studies in Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural engineering or Industrial Technology or equivalent.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
- Able to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Able to apply principle of logical and scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to understand and perform calculations used in drafting and design of required work.
- Respond to requests and inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Preferred knowledge in Autodesk Inventor, CAD Vault, and Microsoft Office
- Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend and move about.
- Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
- Finger and hand dexterity required to manipulate objects.
- Communication skills using the spoken word.
- Ability to see within normal parameters.
- Ability to hear within normal range.
- Ability to physically lift and carry up to 10lbs.
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
