- This position supports product quality, manufacturing, and development activities, as required.
- We are looking for a positive, highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well both in a team and individually.
Major Areas of Accountability:
- Direct involvement in all design activities including CAD design, fabricating, assembling, troubleshooting, reliability, and 3rd party compliance testing, documentation, product introduction, and manufacturing support.
- Work with other engineers, technicians, service, and manufacturing personnel to create and implement reliable, cost-effective, streamlined, and simplified, product solutions.
- Design and document components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Drive continual improvement of manufacturing/assembly processes as related to safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery.
- Evaluates, tests, and provides technical support in solving problems with tooling, product and quality specifications, facilities, production methods, and summarizes results in report form.
- Work with suppliers throughout the development of the project to ensure material costs and schedule stays on target.
- Design test setups, operate laboratory and shop equipment, build prototypes, perform testing, record data, and write test reports.
- Participate in all phases of new product development (Discover, Create, Develop and Deploy)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with relevant industry experience preferred.
- 3+ years of on-the-job experience
- Proven track record of innovative designs, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, and time management skills
- Proficiency in computer design skills and knowledge in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of fundamental Mechanical Engineering principles; statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, mechanical vibrations, heat transfer, material selection and physics.
