Job Summary
GKN Aerospace is excited to present our professional Manufacturing Engineer Internships! As an Engineering Intern, you have the unique opportunity to work and learn from our engineering industry professionals and be an integral part of our engineering department's pursuit to further develop our manufacturing technology and capabilities.
Job Responsibilities
- Under guidance of the engineering manager and department, interns are assigned to teams associated with ongoing production and/or Research and Development programs.
- Preparation and modification of manufacturing/engineering documents
- Observation of processes and technical data generation and analysis
- Support of component and full-scale test activities
- Interface with other internal organizations such as manufacturing, product support and purchasing, as well as suppliers.
- Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.
- Analyze production processes, schedules, methods and other data and then provide management with reports containing the data and statistics to enable management to better understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
- Ensure that the company's manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government laws and regulations.
- Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
- Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer's procedures and instructions are followed in order to keep production equipment operational
- Flexible Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Duration of Internship: 6 months
- Work hours: 20+ Hours willing to work with school schedule. Established schedule at offer.

- Must be able to work onsite.
- The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership.
- Presently enrolled in Associate/Bachelor program with a concentration Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Able to support 20+ hours
- U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirement
- Self-starter that can manage or organize their activities in a team environment.
- Demonstrated competent and effective communication
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Microsoft, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Good analytical skills and a good financial acumen are required
Compensation Data
The hourly rate for this role is:
$25.00/hr
