This role
We are searching for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team to develop the optomechanical components and their interface to the rest of our cutting-edge system revolutionizing data center operations. You will lead the design and integration of these systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of thermal and mechanical performance. You will work closely with electrical, optical, and product teams.
Areas of contribution
- Develop interfaces for opto-mechanical systems, enhancing integration and performance.
- Deliver comprehensive thermal and mechanical designs for electronics and opto-mechanical systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- Develop designs that withstand system shock, vibration, and thermal challenges, maintaining performance under various conditions.
- Interface with electrical, optical, and product leads and designers, facilitating seamless integration and cohesiveness across disciplines.
- Evaluate network chassis for compatibility with high voltage electronics systems, interfacing with MEMS devices, and electrical and thermal interposer interfaces, ensuring optimal placement and functionality.
Requirements (necessary skills for this role):
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on opto-mechanical systems and electronics.
- Proficiency in thermal and mechanical design, with a proven track record of delivering efficient and reliable systems.
- Experience with system shock, vibration, and thermal management design.
- Strong ability to collaborate across disciplines, working effectively with electrical, optical, and product development teams.
- Skilled in the use of CAD software and simulation tools for mechanical design and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to innovation and quality in engineering solutions.
Nice-to-haves (we will prioritize candidates that also have these skills):
- Experience in data centers, MEMS devices or other high performance computing systems.
$110,000 - $160,000 a year
For all roles, we target market salaries, with an additional benefits package. Our comprehensive benefits include startup equity and medical expenses coverage (including extra coverage for employees with a family). The salary in our offers are determined based on years of experience, living expenses (for remote roles) and our internal salaries.
