Thermal Engineering Corporation (TEC) is a consulting engineering firm specializing in mechanical and fire protection engineering. TEC has experience in the design of air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, pumps and piping, automatic fire suppression, fire alarm, power generation, and heavy industrial systems. Incorporated in Hawaii in 1978, the firm provides a wide range of engineering services including engineering investigations and studies, planning studies, and design and construction management services for new and existing facilities.
Position Description:
Position Description:
TEC is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to be part of our project team. Working under regular supervision, perform duties and tasks related to engineering and design activities of the project team. This position will include a variety of tasks to gain further knowledge and develop skills in the Mechanical Engineering field, as well as Company methodology and design standards. Designing systems will require you to become familiar with applicable codes, standards and design techniques, perform calculations to size and select equipment, use of computer programs to aid analysis and documentation and generate sketches as the basis for design drawings. Develop the ability to multi-task, set priorities, and work independently, and proceed with objectives as directed.
Qualifications:
Education/certifications.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Skills/Knowledge/Experience.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit MEP is preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam Revu.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and independently with little supervision.
- Must be able to pass background check (which includes criminal history, credit screening, education and employment verification) and drug screening.
- Must be able to obtain US military security clearance.
- Driving is required. Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Able to travel domestically and international.
Physical Requirements.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional work outdoors.
- Regular standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and reaching above/below the shoulders.
- Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 lbs.
- Capable of performing on-site observation visits, which may require the use of ladders and working at heights.
Compensation:
Negotiable. Based on experience and qualifications.
