As an R&D Engineer I-Mechanical:
What you will do:
- Design, develop, and test new products for the Automotive Service Industry
- Achieve reliable function that satisfies project scope criteria through the selection of parts, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Validate concepts through analysis and testing including design of test fixtures and special instrumentation where necessary
- Design parts and assemblies consisting of sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, castings, plastics, sensors, and electronics
- Collaborate with other functional groups to meet project deliverables
- Additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications Include:
- 1-3 years of product design experience, 3+ years’ experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- Must be a proactive, creative self-starter, and proficient with CAD (Creo preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Experience with mechanism design, machined metal parts, material selection, system integration, and patent experience preferred
- General knowledge of automobiles and their suspension systems preferred
