Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineer Key Role: Apply engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture, or maintenance of mechanical systems. Apply specific functional, working, and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.

Work independently with some guidance. Review or guide activities of more junior employees. Basic Qualifications: Experience with working in hardware design, prototyping, 3D modeling, and computer-aided drafting (CAD) scholastically or in a professional work environment Knowledge of basic engineering and physics principles as they apply to hardware design and product development Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and approaches, including additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques Ability to develop technical documentation, including 2D technical drawings and written technical documentation Ability to obtain a security clearance Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Additional Qualifications: Experience with the fabrication, assembly, and integration of electromechanical prototype or military systems Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) or modeling and simulation activities Experience with engineering software, including Matlab, Mathcad, or multiphysics software Experience with lab-based developmental testing and test data acquisition Knowledge of product design for manufacturability, reliability, maintainability, injection molding, ruggedization, and exposure to extreme environments Ability to collaborate with an integrated product team, including a variety of technical and non-technical teammates Secret clearance Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
