We’re a growing manufacturer with an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer based at our Phoenix, AZ facility, with occasional travel to our Nogales, Sonora facility, a 3-hour drive away, for specific projects. The role involves collaborating closely with operations, quality, and current engineering staff to enhance product quality, optimize production flow, and innovate new products.

Mechanical Project Engineer Primary Responsibilities:
Design products meeting customer expectations and applicable standards within material budget constraints.
Conduct engineering calculations related to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc.
- Develop SOLIDWORKS models, assemblies, and detail drawings from initial concepts, sketches, and specification sheets.
- Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to create drawings.
- Address production issues promptly, collaborating with the shop floor to resolve manufacturing specification or Bill of Material concerns.
- Support products through direct communication with Sales, Manufacturing, and Customers on production documentation issues.
- Streamline manufacturing processes for increased efficiency.
- Develop processes and systems for scalable production of given products.
- Support testing of existing and potential new products.
- Ensure projects adhere to allocated budget and timeframe.
- Foster a positive environment within the facility, contributing to strong morale and spirit.
- Collaborate with leadership and peers to achieve meaningful results.

- Perform other assigned duties.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience considered.
- Proficient in SOLIDWORKS.
- General understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 practices.
- Bonus: Experience in fabrication, sheet metal, and machine design of integrated systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, and Outlook.
