We are currently seeking a motivated individual for our facility in Mars, Pennsylvania as the Mechanical Drafter. The GA Industries Mechanical Drafter (Drafter) will be responsible for the detailed 3D and 2D creation of valve assemblies and components by gathering information from various locations and combining into completed products. The employee will aid in the management and documentation of drawings. The position will also be responsible for supporting operations and engineering in executing change orders and continuous improvement projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create technical 3D models and assemblies of mechanical equipment from existing drawings
• Create and update 2D drawings, from 3D models with GD&T, tolerance blocks, and material specifications
• Consult technical handbooks and tables, review specifications, verify final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
• Assist in ongoing project to standardize and unify design document standards by managing product data management system
• Communicate with engineers and manufacturing personnel to create detailed layouts and to find and execute Engineering Change Notices for dimensional issues
• Interface with engineering, sales, and operations, collect initial drawings, calculations and designs and combine into design models.
• Assist production with problems concerning the interpretation of drawings
• Participate in special projects as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in Drafting or equivalent experience
• Additional certifications in drafting a plus
• Zero to two years Drafting experience
• Use of 3D solid modeling software, AutoCAD and Inventor required
• Experience implementing bill of material creation from 3D models a preferred
• Other software as required on a project basis
• Technical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing processes
• Experience in SAP a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit.
• Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
