Job Description
The Mechanical Designer/Drafter will gather product requirements and will assist in the design of sheet metal and hardware parts for commercial refrigeration equipment. This role will ensure the accuracy and completeness of new product introductions, revisions to existing products, change control documentation, associated drawings and bill of materials. Responsible for effectively implementing changes throughout the organization. We have an excellent benefit package, including a 5% employer match on 6% employee contribution to 401(k) – worth at least $2,200; 2 weeks paid vacation plus 2 weeks of PTO available annually. Monday through Friday- competitive starting wage based on experience.
What You'll Do:
- Create, modify, and manage 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
- Develop and implement mechanical design solutions to meet project requirements.
- Create detailed engineering drawings of components and assemblies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design specifications are met.
- Provide technical support to the manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Ensure all engineering designs and processes comply with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback, and implementing necessary changes.
- Perform engineering tasks in our MRP/ PDM systems to set up and release new and revised components and assemblies into the factory.
- Strong communication skills are required for this role.
- Develop robust solutions to technical or quality problems.
- Develop and implement cost savings projects
- Provide guidance and leadership to designers, lab technicians, and other team members.
- Prepare complete schedules and reports for assigned project activities.
- Achieve scheduled milestones for assigned projects.
- Other duties / responsibilities as assigned.
What You Bring:
- Associate's Degree in Drafting & Design Technology, or related discipline and 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred).
- Experience in manufacturing environment (Preferred).
- Experience in sheet metal design and fabrication (Preferred).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products.

- Office environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping, and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
- Installation sites may be hot with high humidity.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time as needed.
