At TWD Technologies, we are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Designer to join our Pittsburgh, PA team. 

Job Summary

The Junior / Intermediate Mechanical Designer is responsible for planning, organizing and execution of various aspects of mechanical engineering, piping engineering and design support.  This will include participating as a member of dynamic project teams with a wide range of types of tasks. The position will provide the opportunity to work in the Metals industry. 

Job Duties

• Perform all or some of the following: organize/plan jobs, write/review specifications, write technical bid evaluations, prepare/maintain schedules, develop/monitor estimates and manpower forecasts, work with project/client/field, material procurement, permit, and subcontract activities.
• Utilize vendor data and work with personnel from other disciplines as required for the performance of designs. Utilize/perform squad checks of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines.
• Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices, etc.
• Preparation of Scope of Work and construction work packages (CWP’s).
• Preparation of Scope of Work and Contractor Bid documentation packages.
• Assisting in the ongoing development of TWD internal systems to improve our quality and efficiency of delivering effective projects to clients.
• General support to the Mechanical Designer discipline.
•  Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Site experience within the Metals industry.
• 3-5 years + experience as an Mechanical Designer.
• Experience with Solidworks & AutoCad.
• Equipment Design, conveyors experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Project).
•  Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, and experience in a client facing role is strongly preferred.
