Duties may generally be described as developing Mechanical Design solutions, production files, parts & assembly drawings, bills of material, assembly/installation instructions, performing tests, developing test procedures, perform inspections for electro-mechanical products. These tasks support current and/or new Mirion’s products and must be executed in accordance with Mirion’s Quality Assurance (QA) practice and procedures.
EESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Develop complete 3D SolidWorks CAD Mechanical Designs for systems, components, and/or parts based upon customer specifications, product specifications, and project manager’s description/sketches.
- Provide Mechanical Design solutions for project/product requirements utilizing established engineering practices, work procedures and industry prevailing standards.
- Develop detailed mechanical parts & assembly drawings, bill of materials, and work instructions.
- Support project activities at all levels coordinating with electrical, nuclear and other engineers and technicians.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of Mirion’s standard products.
- Produce work instructions and test procedures as required per project needs.
- Perform inspections and tests on components as required per project needs.
- Perform flow analysis and produce reports on findings.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited university.
- Minimum three years mechanical engineering experience, including machine part design and fabrication.
- Experience with mechanical/functional testing of instrumentation and control equipment; and ability to use basic hand tools for receipt inspection, set-up, adjustment, and calibration.
- Proficient in 3D modeling, preferably SolidWorks.
- Experience with 2D drafting and CAD.
- Knowledgeable in welding practices & processes. Familiar with welding symbols & welding standards per AWS.
- Proficiency in ANSI and other prevailing international drafting & tolerance standards.
- Proficiency in MS suite: WORD, Excel and Outlook.
- Skilled in the design and documentation of sheet metal, machined parts and welded structures.
- Designer will work closely with Engineering team of various disciplines and must be able to absorb general instructions, properly and accurately execute plans, complete tasks in a timely manner in accordance with project requirements and schedule constraints.
- Good English communications skills.
- Self-motivated team player, able to operate with minimal supervision.
