Mechanical CAD Designer Summary
Working alongside engineers, machinists and service technicians you will be an integral part of the design, manufacturing, and commissioning process of the latest generation of paper converting equipment.
Mechanical CAD Designer Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create accurate manufacturing drawings, schematics, and panel layouts based on input from Engineering.
• Provide complete and accurate design of parts and assemblies and coordinate their distribution for review.
• Review drawings for accuracy, consistency and compliance to industrial standards, internal design standards and project requirements.
• Create complete assemblies utilizing 3D modeling software and generate bills of materials.
• Ability to create and define accurate, clear, concise detail drawings for new or modified parts and assemblies using CAD from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.
• Manage multiple projects and tasks, with input from supervision, in accordance with prescribed schedules and resources.
• Work directly with engineers, machinists, and testers to improve designs, processes, and manufacturing methods.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Mechanical CAD Designer Qualifications

Mechanical CAD Designer Education and/or Experience

• Prefer a two-year Associate degree in Mechanical Design, plus one year of relevant design/drafting experience.
• Strong mechanical background is preferred.  
• SolidWorks with mechanical experience a plus.  
• 2D software experience a plus.
• Working experience of 3D modeling software is required.

Language Skills

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from internal staff, clients and customers.
• Ability to function both independently and as part of a group.
• Ability to function in a team environment. 

Mathematical Skills

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mechanical CAD Designer Other Qualifications

• Requires the ability to operate a variety of standard office machines, to include a computer, telephone, fax, copier, etc., and the ability to operate a variety of test and development equipment.
• Ability to concentrate in a noisy environment.
