Mechanical Assembler I - Rail Infrastructure

Position Overview:

The Assembler I is responsible for assembling component parts for rail communications equipment. Reports directly to Production Supervisor and/or Team Leader.

What your day-to-day will look like:

The Assembler I will be responsible for the assembly of component parts with the use of assembly prints and Bill of Materials (BOM). The Assembler I will be trained. Also responsible for:

• Wire crimping, stripping, and soldering
• Perform 5S activities and maintain equipment in proper working order, and improve work area cleanliness
• Perform work in a safe and healthy manner; ensuring deviations to standard work instructions that will lead to quality, productivity, or safety problems are immediately identified
• Identify and communicate ideas to team leaders that support improving the team’s performance and the elimination of waste
• Participate in process improvement activities
• Support other assembly teams when required
• Display professional conduct with customers and coworkers
• Attend training sessions as needed or required

To thrive in this role, you have:

• Basic computer skills required
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Basic math skills
• Problem solving skills

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of one year manufacturing experience preferred

The base rate range for this position in Homestead, PA is $16.00/hr – $19.52/hr.**The rate may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
