Mechanic

One of our local clients in Tri-Cities, WA has an immediate need for a Maintenance Lube Technician. This individual will work in their facility as well as in the field with the crew. We are looking for candidates with steady work history.

Mechanic job highlights:

• Day shift schedule
• Working independently and with a team
• Get paid weekly on Friday’s!

 

Shift: Monday-Friday, 1:00PM-10:00PM (hours may vary during the busy season)

 

Pay: $18-$23/hr

 

Mechanic Duties:

• Demonstrate the safe operation of all equipment from the truck line to the shop and safely operate hydraulic components around other employees and obstacles while in the shop to access grease points and oil check/fill locations.
• Grease high wear points on fleet while adhering to predetermined schedule set forth by maintenance lead
• Top off fluids (engine oil, AFT, coolant, hydraulic fluid), correctly complete work order and return paperwork to driver boxes for signature of repairs
• Maintain oil levels in CNG compressors
• Take oil samples on equipment scheduled by maintenance lead and correctly complete paperwork for oil sample submission
• Inspect shop vehicles weekly (check oil, top off fluids, fuel trucks)
• Keep the shop in a clean and orderly fashion (sweeping, putting away parts, cleaning equipment)
• Learn various levels and specifics of the maintenance of all equipment

Repairs:

• Learn how to perform diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on equipment both in the field and at our facility using diagnostic software, and other diagnosis techniques.
• Learn how to perform repairs, certifying that the repairs have been safely completed while maintaining compliance with regulations set forth by the FMCSA and DOT.
• Learn how to evaluate the repair, document the needed items, and offer an opinion on feasibility.
• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain a neat and tidy work environment.
• Work with drivers and staff to actively participate in functions of the day.
• Document and complete repair orders for all work completed.

Ideal Candidate will possess:

• Other tasks as assigned

 

Requirements:

• Able to lift and move 50 lbs or more
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, bend, and lift
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
• Must be able to wear safety equipment, safety glasses, work boots, vest, etc.
• 2 years minimum proven experience as a Mechanic
• Ability to safely use power tools and hand tools
• Understanding of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Basic math and computer skills

• Experience in automotive maintenance and repair a plus.
• Desire to learn and advance.
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to obtain a CDL (clean driving record, etc..)
• Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.
• Ability to read and comprehend service literature as well as technical information, electric and hydraulic schematics and diagrams and technical information.
