Job Type: Full Time Monday-Friday with on call rotation
Salary: starting rate $105,000/yr
Required Experience:
Active RN license
MDS/RAI experience a must
Experience with Point Click Care/EMR
Level of Education:
Bachelors degree in Nursing required
Job Description:
The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse will oversee and facilitate the completion of resident assessments in accordance with Federal and State regulations
The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse will establish assessment schedules and ensure that assessments are done in an accurate and timely manner
The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse is responsible for transmitting assessments to the State of Rhode Island, Department of Health
The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse will coordinate resident care plans in accordance to regulatory requirements, ensuring that resident care is delivered effectively
The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse will initiate Medicare coverage for newly qualified residents and sending denial letters when necessary
The MDS Coordinator- Registered Nurse will remain updated on changes in Medicare coverage and help determine documents necessary for reimbursement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced Registered Nurse with knowledge of the MDS process
The Registered Nurse must be detailed oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills
The Registered Nurse must have the ability to work cooperatively with our facility interdisciplinary team
The Registered Nurse will be flexible and decisive, with the ability to work under pressure
The Registered Nurse must have knowledge of state and federal regulations as they relate to long term care nursing reimbursement
The Registered Nurse has the ability to work flexible hours, when necessary
The Registered Nurse will communicate effectively with both a diverse clientele and workforce through sound business decisions, diplomacy, and discretion
Provide staff education related to MDS process
Work with a multidisciplinary care team
Ability to complete accurate and timely assessments
Interested in quality improvement
Knowledge of ICD 10 Coding preferred
