Description
StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a full time Co-Responder to join its outstanding Mobile Crisis Outreach Team supporting people in crisis with the Lubbock Police Department as part of a two-team unit Crisis Intervention Team Officer. This is a field-based position.
Responsibilities:
  • Providing crisis assessment/intervention and ANSA/CANS Assessments for adults, adolescents, and children.
  • Providing appropriate recommendations for hospitalization, 23 hour Extended Observation, referrals to crisis services, and assisting with linkage to community resources.
  • Providing follow-up services to individuals as clinically indicated.
  • Completing all required documentation within established timeframes.
  • Attending meetings and trainings as necessary/required.
  • Assisting supervisor and other Center staff with special assignments and/or projects.

Essential Duties:
  • This position works directly with the Lubbock Police Department to respond to and provide intervention services to people experiencing crises.

Schedule: This is a full-time/non-exempt position scheduled Tuesday - Friday, in 10-hour shifts from 1pm to 11pm, with flexibility to meet the needs of the department.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with major course work in a Human Services field (Human Development/Family Studies, Psychology, Sociology, etc) with two (2) years full-time experience in a related field

OR
  • a Master's Degree in a Human Service related field with applicable licensure to include: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Crisis Experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must have a Texas driver's license and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
  • Local travel, with mileage reimbursement, may be needed.
