MCOT Specialist Co-Responder - Hockley

StarCare Specialty Health System (StarCare) is seeking a full time Rural Diversion Co-Responder to join its outstanding Crisis Intervention Team, working alongside the Hockley County Sheriff's Office and Levelland Police Department to provide support and crisis intervention services to the community. 

Responsibilities:

• Completing Magistrate Warrants when appropriate.
• Coordinating and facilitating additional crisis intervention services as needed with StarCare staff, other law enforcement and partnering agencies within Hockley County.
• Providing crisis assessment/intervention and ANSA/CANS Assessments for adults, adolescents, and children.
• Providing appropriate recommendations for hospitalization, 23 hour Extended Observation, referrals to crisis services, and assisting with linkage to community resources.
• Providing follow-up services to individuals as clinically indicated.
• Completing all required documentation within established timeframes.
• Attending meetings and trainings as necessary/required.
• Assisting supervisor and other Center staff with special assignments and/or projects.

Essential Duties:

• Working directly with the Hockley County Sheriff office as part of co responder 2 person unit with a Crisis Intervention Team officer.
• Field-based position

Schedule: This is a full-time/non-exempt position scheduled for a 4o hour week, with flexibility and OT availability to meet the needs of the department.  Hours: 10 hour shifts

Employment Incentive Payments:

• Upon Completion of First 30 Days       $500
• Six (6) Month Anniversary                    $500
• One (1) Year Anniversary                     $1,000
• Two (2) Year Anniversary                     $2,000  

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with major course work in a Human Services field (Human Development/Family Studies, Psychology, Sociology, etc) with two (2) years full-time experience in a related field

OR

• a Masters Degree in a Human Service related field with applicable licensure to include: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

• Crisis Experience preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
• Must have a Texas driver's license and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
• Local travel, with mileage reimbursement, may be needed.
