Saint John School is looking for a qualified and passionate Math Tutor who believes strongly in putting students first. Working at Saint John School is more than simple employment. Full or Part Time Math Tutor
Purpose Statement
• The Tutor fulfills the mission of Saint John School by planning, guiding, and assessing the learning process of the students in accordance with the school's philosophy, organization, and curriculum. The Tutor provides the appropriate learning atmosphere and activities designed to maximize student competencies and skills for intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth toward a successful future. The Tutor has decision-making responsibilities within essential job functions, in keeping with school policies. The position is hired and evaluated by the principal in collaboration with the assistant principal.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school • Acts as a witness to Gospel values by communicating and modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Builds the school faith community by a demonstrated willingness to participate in and plan school religious and service activities
• Is knowledgeable of and supports and adheres to all policies and procedures of the school and Diocese
• Uses appropriate material and resources, including the use of technology and 21st century skills, for students to engage in learning
• Uses effective instructional methods according to professional standard practice to maximize student time on task
• Maintains current and accurate records

• Maintains a functional and pleasant learning environment
• Practices positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom • Contacts parents when necessary for either academic or behavioral concerns • Meets staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese/local administration • Demonstrates professional work habits by regular attendance, honoring schedules/
deadlines, organizing work, and conducting assigned tasks in an effective and efficient manner
• Keeps the administration informed of areas of need and concern
Minimum Qualifications
• Valid State of Ohio Teaching License in the designated teaching assignment • Compliance with the Diocese of Youngstown Policies for Teacher Licensure and assignment
