Position Expectations
Fayetteville Academy is hiring a Math Teacher that is eager to join a passionate faculty and engage with a robust curriculum and thoughtful course sequence. The courses this position is responsible for include Geometry and Statistics & Probability. This Middle and Upper School math curriculum includes Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, AP Pre-Calculus, Statistics & Probability, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus. Depending on candidate strengths, flexibility to teach other courses is an option. This role includes maintaining lesson plans, assignments and lab work, progress reports, and grades.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in math (with a master’s degree preferred) and at least three to five years of teaching experience in either middle or high school education. Independent school experience is preferable. Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues is essential. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, a sense of humor, enthusiasm, and a desire to collaborate are also important for this position.
