Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY
This position will provide support to members of the Materials Product Management and Engineering team by assisting on specific assigned projects. This may include hands-on evaluation of the performance of competing products, gathering data from sales and customers regarding pain points and unmet needs and running test experiments to quantify and document product performance. The individual will work with both on-site and remote personnel for work direction, work support and reviews.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute product evaluation experiments in our laboratory.
- Support Product Managers and Staff Scientists in investigating and responding to customer issues as they arise, coordinating with Product Management and Engineering on these items.
- Develop technical material for Sales Readiness Training, and internal communications to engineering and operations.
- Evaluate performance specifications of our products, 3rd party products and competitive products with the support of our engineering team.
- Perform market research and evaluate the competitive landscape to identify features/benefits and unique competitive advantages of the Materials products.
- Participate in Customer Discovery interviews and assist in consolidating the results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Rising college junior or senior pursing a B.S. Material Science Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Hands on experience in running material tests using servo-hydraulic, electro-dynamic or electro-mechanical systems.
- GPA of 3.0 or above
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership and teamwork capabilities required (extracurricular, academic, etc.).
- Previous relevant internship experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Must be able to work onsite at our Eden Prairie, MN location.
