Materials Planning Sr Specialist

The Materials Planner is responsible for the creation & maintenance of bills of materials related to products in the Udder Care product line. The Materials Planner is responsible for the creation and execution of production orders for products produced through sub-contractors. In addition, Materials Planner is also responsible for executing purchase orders supporting the manufacture of products as well as the drop ship of finished good materials to customers. Master Data Maintenance:

• Work with Udder Care development team to determine the need for new item setup and bills of material as appropriate
• Create and maintain new products and attached bills of materials
• Maintain accurate vendor information on product records
• Update bills of materials for changes in components

Production Execution:    

• Create & release production orders needed to produce manufactured products in Udder Care product line
• Liaise with sub-contractors to schedule production and update production orders and materials usage as appropriate
• Execute the production orders to completion  
  

 Purchasing:         

• Order materials needed by sub-contractors to manufacture goods
• Work with inventory management personnel to ensure accurate inventory for sufficient stocks of components needed to manufacture end materials
• Execute purchase orders to fill customer orders of drop shipped materials
• Liaise with sales staff and distributors as needed to purchase products needed in the field to support sales operations
• Determine & maintain relevant levels of safety stock
• Work with vendors on processes to ensure efficient processing of orders
  

Cost Management:                  

• Monitor transactions to ensure costs are appropriately recorded and applied
• Ensure production costs are appropriately rolled up and absorbed into product cost
• Review materials and plans for opportunities to save cost
  

Process:         

• Work with Udder Care team to ensure processes are documented and follow best practices
• Get involved in new products and processes
• Develop processes for exception reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline preferred or 5 + years of relevant experience
• 2+ years of related experience required.
• Experience with a top tier ERP with Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
• Experience with purchase or production execution
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
