We are looking to fill an opportunity for an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist within the finance department of our Boulder, CO location. Holzworth is located in Boulder, Colorado. Situated 25 miles northwest of Denver in the Colorado foothills, Boulder is well known as a progressive community with a diverse and lively social scene. More than 300 days of sunshine (annually) allow locals to enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities including hiking, skiing, cycling, rock climbing, kayaking, and much more.

About you/the role:

We are seeking a Materials Planner/Inventory Manager to manage the supply levels for our Boulder manufacturing operations. In this role, you are responsible for forecasting our supply needs and keeping production flowing smoothly with the needed materials without holding excess inventory. This requires managing, controlling, and monitoring all aspects related to inventories. This includes ordering and receiving raw materials in our ERP system, as well as creating and completing work tickets for assembled inventory items. You will be responsible for monitoring the storage and movement of inventory and ensuring the accuracy of inventory records. You will work closely with other departments (Production, Engineering, Accounting, Sales) and with vendors to ensure efficient operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Forecast supply needs for a given period; monitor and adjust inventory levels, taking into consideration demand and lead times.
  • Monitor and maintain report for materials slated for obsolescence or experiencing unusually long lead times; communicate with Engineering to determine EOL buy, find substitutions, and/or discuss the need and timing of design revisions
  • Request quotes and order inventory items in a timely manner. Adhere to purchasing limits; be prepared to justify spend in order to obtain necessary approvals
  • Maintain relationships with existing vendors and develop new vendor relationships; negotiate agreements with contractor manufacturers
  • Create and track vendor POs in ERP system. Make sure vendors have all the most recent files and drawings, follow up on critical orders to make sure vendors are on schedule, expedite orders when supplies are low, adjust order sizes as needs fluctuate
  • Be aware of part or BOM revisions to ensure most current parts are being stocked and inactive inventory is properly adjusted
  • Manage inventory items in the ERP system; add new part numbers and assemblies, record inventory adjustments, and keep inventory item records updated, including assembly BOMs. This includes part number revisions, substitutions, obsolescence of parts, and keeping safety stock and reorders quantities up to date
  • Create work tickets for assemblies and finished goods, in ERP system, based on new sales orders
  • Work closely with our Production Manager to organize and schedule deliveries to customers; stay on top of issues that could cause shipment delays
  • Provide answers to the Sales Dept regarding customer complaints involving supply and delivery
  • Manage inventory control processes; ensuring proper receipt and storage
  • Track and review inventory records and discrepancies; monitor inventory accuracy and investigate discrepancies
  • Monitor rejected material; make sure inventory counts are accurately reflected and updated when status changes
  • Develop and implement new inventory and purchasing policies and procedures, as needed
  • Create inventory reports, organize cycle counts, and oversee inventory audits
  • Maintain capital equipment and equipment rental lists; keeping track of disposals, returns, or replacements
  • Provide revenue and on time delivery metrics to headquarters

Job Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business or logistics or at least 5 years supply chain and vendor management experience
  • Strong forecasting skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Experience with ERP/MRP software
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task efficiently
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, planning, project management, and time management skills
