What we do:
Day in the life of a Materials Handler III:
Duties:
- Track/manage consumable inventory, establish reorder points, safety stock quantities, and cycle counts.
- Receive shipments at the loading dock, inspect for damage, and accept or reject deliveries.
- Receive and log incoming express mail (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.) and packages.
- Fulfill tax form requests from the public, Taxpayer Services Centers, libraries, and other government offices.
- Administer the weekly secure document destruction process for the facility.
- Process outgoing mail (metering letters and packages).
- Pick-up and transport mail, packages, supplies, interdepartmental mail, etc. to/from USPS, other state agencies, and department facilities on a prescribed route and times.

Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Previous experience working in a mail center or mailroom
- Operating a postage meter; and
- Driving a box truck with a lift gate and/or cargo van
- Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Products
- Experience with maintaining inventory and receiving shipments
- State experience in tracking consumable inventory
- Attention to detail

As a condition of employment with the CDOR, all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations, therefore all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.
