We work very hard to provide our consumers with high-quality, exciting 5-star products that make life easier. We thrive on passion and innovation and are looking for great people, with great ideas, who want to build the next big thing and develop while they do.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Materials Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Materials Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the research, development, and implementation of new materials and technologies. You will be responsible for analysing, testing, and evaluating the properties and performances of various materials, as well as designing and optimising their applications across a wide range of products. Your expertise in materials science and engineering principles will contribute to enhancing product quality, durability, and innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and Development: Conduct research on new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to develop innovative solutions.
  • Material Selection and Evaluation: Analyse the properties, performance, and behaviour of different materials, such as metals, polymers, ceramics, composites, and alloys, and recommend suitable materials for specific adhesion, anti-corrosion, cooking and cleaning applications.
  • Testing and Characterisation: Plan and execute material testing procedures either internally or leveraging suppliers, including mechanical, thermal, electrical, and chemical analysis, using specialized equipment and techniques. Interpret test results and provide technical reports.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure materials meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimise material production and manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and enhance product performance.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including design engineers, industrial designers, quality/manufacturing engineers, and suppliers, to provide technical expertise and support in material selection and application development.
  • Materials Database Management: Maintain and update a comprehensive materials database, including specifications, properties, and performance data, to support material selection and development activities.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated with industry regulations and standards related to materials, safety, and environmental concerns, and ensure adherence to relevant guidelines.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate research findings, project updates, and recommendations effectively.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field. A Master's or Ph.D. in Materials Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Materials Engineering or a related field. Experience with materials characterisation techniques and testing is essential.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of materials science principles, including material properties, structure, behaviour, and processing methods. Familiarity with various material types and their applications in different industries.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using materials testing equipment, software for data analysis, and simulation tools. Knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling software is a plus.
  • Problem-solving Abilities: Ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis, documentation, and reporting.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project priorities and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
