Job Title: Material Handler - Temp to Perm

Reports To: Warehouse Lead or Production Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate: $15-18/hour DOE
Summary:
Maintains production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; and staging finished product.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performing inventory controls and keeping quality standards high for audits
- Organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse
- Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Receiving and processing incoming stock and materials
- Receives, unpacks and compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of landing, invoices, purchase orders or other records.
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording the location of inventory.
- Routes items to departments and personnel as needed.
- Kitting/Picking and filling orders from stock
- Maintain production cells material 2-bins.
- Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
- Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.
- Packing and shipping orders to customers
- Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers.
- Nails covers on wooden crates, binds containers with metal tape and/or plastic pallet wrap as needed.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet special shipping instructions and Sales Order notes.

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three months minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- OSHA-29-CFR-1910.178 Powered Industrial Truck- Forklift Training upon hire.
- Current driver’s license.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or other employees.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should have a sound understanding of how to operate a variety of software programs and ERP’s. (Microsoft, NetSuite, Carrier and Logistics programs or websites etc.)

This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, pallet wrappers, box cutters and tape dispensers.
