The Position Proposition:
The Material Handler (MH) will work with the Project Coordinator and Local Operations team in developing the overall warehouse and yard plan. The WC will implement the strategy plan for the Contractor Yard Requirements and maintain enough materials and supplies to keep the crews running smoothly. They will be the POC for the Customer & Vend
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse / yard material receipt and inventory
- Maintain inventory control and orders to maintain stock.
- Tooling inventory and control
- Manage consumable items.
- Manage warehouse and yard facilities.
- Develop / maintain status reporting for materials, tools, uniforms, and equipment.
- Coordinate with Operations / customers on Material status
- Maintain a vendor list.
- Other duties as determined.
- Maintain ample amount of PPE and control the issuing to crews.
- Maintain Inventory and access control to non-daily used tools and equipment.
- Order Uniforms and keep stock inventory at location.
- Order bulk consumables for Operations.
- Order spare tools for crews (coordinate with ops on needs).
- Order tools needed by Operation – only under a threshold as determine by V.P.
- 5 years’ experience in a warehouse/physical atmosphere.
- Ability to problem solve issues with strong decision making.
- Physical ability to lift boxes and materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the day.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening and a background check.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required, college degree preferred.
- Forklift certification an asset.
- Maintain a minimum quantity threshold for all material and supplies.
