Job Description
Job Posting: Materials Handler As a Materials Handler you are responsible for unloading and loading materials from trailers and storage areas, ensuring materials are handled safely. You will also check that materials are packaged correctly and are not damaged. You will organize and maintain inventory with a focus on materials entering and leaving the machining department.
You will do this by:
- Loading and unloading materials and/or pallets from trailers or designated storage areas, using proper lifting equipment
- Ensuring materials are labeled and packaged properly
- Maintaining inventory, ensuring it is up to date Performing general maintenance and cleanup of working areas
- Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Other duties as assigned

Quality/Environmental Responsibilities:
- Capable of working safely in a noisy environment with frequent exposure to fast-moving machinery and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Wears all required PPE and maintains safe work practices.
- Awareness/adherence to TST and Safety policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to use basic math to analyze information Experience with computer systems
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, responsible and able to work well in a team environment.
- Must obtain a forklift license
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years or more experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience handling materials
- Forklift certification
- Experience with EPICOR
Physical | Visual Demands:
Weight amount that would need to be lifted, pushed or pulled: Up to 50 pounds
Must be able to Sit, Stand, Walk Talk/Hear, Use Hands, Climb/Balance, Stoop/Kneel/Croouch or Crawl, Reach with Hands and Arms
Regularly walk, stand and sit.
Occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
Capable of operating material handling equipment.
Work Environment:
- Loud (Examples: metal can manufacturing department, large earth moving equipment)
- Noisy environment with frequent exposure to fast-moving machinery and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Working outdoors, exposed to weather elements
