Job Description: Position is responsible for materials handling in support of gene therapy contract manufacturing operations at Thermofisher Scientific, 45 Hartwell Ave, Lexington, MA Site. This job is part of a site Supply Chain Team consisting of Material Handlers, Supply Chain Specialists, Materials Planners, Master Production Planning and Finite Scheduling. The Supply Chain team supports the various groups involved in the manufacture and supply of gene therapy products.
Position is in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment and requires accurate documentation and attention to detail. Under the guidance of a Lead Materials Handler this position is responsible for the following:
Active participation in daily morning all hands huddle.
Receiving and verifying the accuracy and quality of incoming materials.
Kitting of materials for manufacturing process orders and movement of materials to Manufacturing Operations area. This includes the use of cleaning and sanitizing agents for moving materials into controlled areas.
Maintaining cold chain equipment (i.e. 2 to 8 ⁰C refrigerators, -20 ⁰C Freezers, -80 ⁰C Freezers and Liquid Nitrogen cryo storage units).
Warehousing of process intermediates, Drug Substance and Drug Product
Attention to proper labeling and placement according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
Keeping a well-maintained and updated account of stock and inventory through regular cycle counts.
Handling material returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.
Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance.
Requirements include:
18 years of age or older with Highschool diploma or equivalent.
Able to work 40+ hours per week.
Lift 50 lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
Operate in a GMP environment (for example: following SOP’s, good documentation practices, maintaining work area in an organized state).
Ability to interface with computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), SAP and other platforms necessary for training, documentation, and execution of job.
