This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Material Handler (Fork Lift Operator/Motor Vehicle Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. -Ability to perform common Material Handler Handler (MVO/FLO) duties which include performing warehousing work involved in the receipt, storage, shipment, issue/distribution and inventory of expendable medical and non-medical supplies and equipment. I can perform packing, unpacking, sorting, stacking, warehousing, and moving items. I can perform in-storage checks for maintenance requirements, vermin control, and damage. Report findings and serious damage to supervisor for action. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- Physical Effort: Transportation movements and container yard work requires prolonged standing on hard surfaces,
stooping, bending and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, positions
and carries supplies and equipment weighing from 20 to 35 pounds and, occasionally, in excess of 50
pounds. Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls while driving,
turning, starting and stopping the forklift truck and raising, lowering and tilting the loads being
moved.Motor vehicle and material handling operation requires good hand and eye coordination in the
manipulation of gears, levers, brakes, steering wheel, etc.
- Working Conditions: Works inside and outside in cold, damp, drafty and hot areas. Subject to injury from falling
objects, collisions, shifting loads and overturning. Equipment is operated wherever it is needed.
