The University of Notre Dame has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler in General Services.
Why this position?
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our General Services team as a Material Handler. As a key member of our field crew, you will be responsible for executing daily work orders, encompassing a wide range of tasks including event setups and teardowns, office relocations, freight handling, and managing surplus pickups and deliveries.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute daily work orders as part of the General Services team field crew.
- Handle event setups and teardowns, office moves, freight and surplus pickups and deliveries, and other material handling logistics.
- Perform heavy lifting (75 pounds or more) and work on your feet throughout the day.
- Operate vehicles, forklifts, two-wheeled carts, pallet jacks, and various hand tools.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
- Follow daily work instructions while also exercising independent judgment when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid drivers license.
- Ability to obtain DOT and forklift certification if not already possessed.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and comfort with technology.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
DOT and forklift certifications.
