Material Handler

Adecco Staffing is working with one of the America's few remaining, family-owned smokehouses who is looking for an experienced Material Handler on 1st shift! This is a temp-hire position.
Pay Rate:

• 1st Shift: $19.00/hour

Hours:

• 1st Shift: Monday through Friday from 7:00am - 5:30pm

Job Overview:
The Material Handler will will be responsible for assisting in all facets of finished goods, inventory control, and receivables while ensuring safe actions, environmental compliance and quality production in a Good Manufacturing Practice food-grade operation. All in compliance with the standards of wholesomeness, hygiene, health & safety at work. Job Details:

• Must have prior forklift experience
• Ability to clearly read and interpret numbers
• Putting up all finished goods that come off the production lines
• General warehouse housekeeping
• Weekly cycle counts of all bacon & sausage products
• Assist in the monthly inventory
• Take pallets down when shipper needs large quantity
• Handle all receiving (raw goods, dry goods, packaging materials and pallets)
• Sorting of pallets
• Highly detail oriented and meticulous
• Autonomy, versatility, thoroughness and resourcefulness
• Strong commitment to teamwork and concern for others (promote a team-building environment)
• High level of personal responsibility and ownership
• Ability to speak effectively and professionally before groups of customers, employees of organization, and drivers
• Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Good physical shape (able to lift 50 pounds)
• Autonomy, versatility, thoroughness and resourcefulness
• Good speed of execution (fast paced environment)
• Strong commitment to teamwork and concern for others
• High level of personal responsibility and ownership
• Highly detail oriented and meticulous
• Flexibility and willing for overtime
• Basic mathematical skills in weights, temperatures, times and general numbers
• Able to work in a cold/hot environment
• Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Able to operate computer and write routine reports and correspondence
• Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and depth perception acuities
