Material Handler
Job Description
The responsibilities of the Material Handler within Garden Remedies, Inc. (GRI) broadly embrace the key areas described below.
Responsibilities:
- Completes builds in ERP/MRP systems accurately
- Accurately transfers products to correct location in ERP/MRP systems
- Moves WIP and finished goods to correct physical location
- Maintains 6S standards in vault and other inventory locations
- Resupplies point of use inventory from warehouse
- Inventory management and tracking
- Performs daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts
- Assist in completing warehouse actions as needed
- Assists with MRB root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Reports inventory discrepancies to Production Supervisor
- Assist in production work as needed
- Follows and executes compliant practices adhering in accordance with state regulations and GRI’s standard operating procedures.
- Maintains extensive knowledge of GRI’s products
- Maintains a clean, and safe working environment
- Completes other duties as assigned in a timely and appropriate manner
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of shipping, receiving and Material Handler experience (willing to train the right candidate)
- 1-2 years of inventory management (willing to train the right candidate)
- 1-2 years of ERP/MRP system experience (Leif Logix preferred) (willing to train the right candidate)
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles or eager to acquire necessary knowledge preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Extremely high attention to detail, including the ability to detect quality defects
- Ability to adhere to a strict schedule
- Computer skills including Microsoft Suite
- Maintains a positive attitude in a busy department
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, including the ability to lift up to 40 pounds consistently, bend, stoop and twist with or without reasonable accommodation
- Cannabis and assembly experience preferred
Supervision:
- Works under the general supervision of Operations Management
- This position is not responsible for supervising employees
REQUIRED SKILLS
- At least 21 years of age.
- Demonstrated passion to serving the medical and adult-use cannabis community.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Computer operating skills
- Medical and adult use cannabis product knowledge highly desirable
- Experience in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Ability to connect with coworkers and visitors genuinely and respectfully
- Ability to pass all required background checks to work with MA cannabis
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work a set schedule (fulltime M-F 6am-2:30pm)
