The successful candidates will play a crucial role in safely moving and storing goods in the warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- Forklift Operation: Perform daily inspections of electric-powered forklifts using the correct documentation.
- Possess the ability to operate a forklift, including proficiency with different forklift attachments (e.g., slip-sheet unit, double-forks, clamp truck).
- Quality and Safety: Identify and report information on quality issues with finished products.
- Report and correct unsafe conditions through the Hazardous Notification and BBS processes.
- Conduct safety checks related to trailer loading and dock locking systems.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA & DOT standards and have knowledge of SDS’s.
- Maintenance and Compliance: Write-up work orders for repairs as needed.
- Maintain procedural compliance of forklift security and departmental tools.
- Backfill Dock Coordinator Position during planned vacations.
- Warehouse Operations: Plan and prioritize work assignments with minimal supervision.
- Fill out documentation associated with unloading and loading practices within the department.
- Understand material flow and usage for each material on all packaging lines and monitor quantity in trailers on the yard.
- Support changeover, startup/shutdown processes to standards.
- Become an area owner for the warehouse plans.
- Flexibility and Versatility: Ability to fill in and perform work as necessary in Palletizing, other forklift operations, and supporting the lines.
- Housekeeping and 5S Ownership: Own housekeeping and 5S of the designated work area.
- Ensure the maintenance of a clean and organized workspace.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the TRACC & Continuous Improvement Team to identify needs and address opportunities.
- Communicate efficiently with Production Planners and Material Coordinators.
- Work with Inventory Specialist to correct plant inventory levels.
- Strong working knowledge of Distribution Operations.
- Forklift driving ability with certification.
- Ability to operate various forklift attachments.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance with OSHA & DOT standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks.
