Title: Materials Handler
Location: 1145 Broadway, Seattle, WA 98122, United States
Shift: 6 am-2:30 pm Mon-Fri
Duration: 4 month contract
Job Description:
- Materials Receiving incoming freight throughout the day, with emphasis on attention to detail as this role involves having to consistently match medication shipped with what was ordered.
- Ability to manage and sort out multiple Purchase Order receipts to multiple locations in multiple facility sites.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with the procurement team as well as other Material Handlers and couriers. Must have excellent customer service skills and problem-solving skills.
- Ensure that orders are received accurately and in a timely manner. Ensures that medications are handled per special instructions and collaborate with couriers and end-users for proper delivery.
- Teammates consists of x10 Material Handlers. Position works closely with procurement team to match PO orders with shipment as well as the couriers for timely deliveries of orders to end-users.
Top 10 responsibilities
• Match shipments with pack slips on multiple POs to multiple locations on multiple sites
• Re-package supplies ordered to ship to end-users
• Organize and set up repackaged shipments based on multiple locations and multiple sites
• Special handling of multiple medications and ensures that safety protocols are followed, i.e., refrigerated items or ambient, signatures to verify end-users received product ordered.
• Manage and organize special orders and re-place in proper areas throughout the facility.
• Problem solve and do some research whenever issues arise such as miss-shipments, “lost” deliveries, wrong product received by end-users, etc.
• Work closely with procurement team to solve PO issues such as short shipments, unit of measure mistakes, wrong product shipped, etc.
• Provide support to the rest of the team as needed Strong material handling background, focused on receiving in a hospital or warehouse setting. Attention to detail as this position manages medication and other sensitive medical equipment. Strong computer skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and must be able to manage time well. Must be able to work independently and work closely with teammates that may be at different sites or working remotely.
- At least 2 years’ experience as materials handler in a clinical setting or warehouse setting with background in receiving. Meticulous and strong attention to detail.
- Strong attention to detail, must be able to accurately differentiate between multiple item part numbers, similar product names or descriptions and strong problem-solving skills to figure out issues with multiple PO’s.
