Material Controller

1.Serve as a multi discipline Material Controller on assigned capital projects of various complexities
 Identification of material requirements and preparation of material takeoffs from drawings in accordance with practices, codes, specifications, procedures, and specific project requirements
2. Familiar with various materials and demonstrates an awareness of their importance to the overall construction effort and schedule
3. Understand material contingencies, logistics analysis, and procurement functions
4. Demonstrate an understanding of material control activities and interfaces with internal and external project groups
5. Develop related processes and procedures with Procurement, Construction, Project Controls, and project teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials to the job site
6. Develop and maintain a material catalog to be used amongst all PTFI NOLA capital projects
7. Develop/implement all necessary interfaces and procedures for the loading of material requirements data into the Procurement system, to allow for accurately tying material to its Construction Work Package (CWP) and schedule data, ensuring early visibility into jobsite material constraints
8. Input of material requisitions into the Procurement system.  Updating quantities and plan dates, as needed
9. Manage the procurement and construction interface, ensuring visibility of material readiness throughout, from MTO and requisition through to site availability
10. Provide support to Procurement and expediting in conformance with project requirements 
11. Work within Procurement system to run and analyze reports to determine status of required material not requisitioned, shortages versus construction demand, etc. 
12. Liaise with Materials Manager and Warehouse Manager on material deliveries, material readiness and in conjunction with expediting/logistics on any special requirements for loadouts
13. Assist field resources during construction, if required
14. Advise on project forecasting
15. Facilitate the necessary interface points and procedures for front end loading material and equipment requirements into the Procurement system to accommodate construction work planning (CWP)
Qualifications: 
1. Degree, or equivalent, in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
2. Material Control Experience
3. Understanding of material specifications and standards
4. Has basic understanding of the development of project estimates and project baselines
5. Understands project execution, including change management and how it affects material quantities
6. Has the ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) other discipline drawings, and manufacturer's catalog data
7. Competent in maintaining and updating project reports accordingly
8. Keeps the project discipline Engineering Manager informed of the status of discipline materials
9. Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, vendors, and contractors
10. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
11. Proficient in various Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
