The Interiors Integrated and Intelligent Products Group has an exciting opening for an experienced Master Technician in our Arena Laboratory, to help advance best in class intelligent, sustainable, and connected technology integration into our next generation product solutions for our Interiors business unit. The Master Technician works independently with moderate supervision to achieve milestone deliverables for various development activities. The ideal candidate works effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment focused on research and innovation. If you possess strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills with a passion for supporting industry leading research, we want you to come join us, to help us drive and deliver our Interiors Technology Strategy together. You will play a pivotal role that helps deliver market leading aircraft interiors product solutions.
This role is eligible for relocation support.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks
  • Help lead projects and support new technology development programs in a dynamic laboratory environment using electrical and mechanical skills
  • Owns key tasks and assist engineers with minor electrical and mechanical technology developments, building prototypes and demonstrators
  • Executes experimental work on engineering and trade show demonstrators, setting up and taking down testing laboratory type equipment.
  • Supports the development of prototypes and technology demonstrators, through hands-on build, to shipping finished articles to customers.
  • Assists subject matter experts with coordinating the schedule of key activities for timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Supports installation, commissioning, and verification of new equipment and lab capabilities.
  • Adjusts and reconfigures prototypes using hand and power tools (such as Dremel, saws, drills, etc.)
  • Work closely from development and approved procedures, schematics, and drawings.
  • Maintains general lab and test equipment maintenance.
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time

Qualifications/Experience Needed:
  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Certification may be required for technical support roles.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, data acquisition equipment, and 3D printers
  • Experience with soldering connectors and components on PCBs, assembling equipment per prints, wire harness creation, general mechanic skills
  • Experience in the use of computers and software applications including Microsoft office (i.e., MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint packages)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

The salary range for this role is 59,000 USD - 125,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
