How You Will Power our Purpose (Job Summary)
Our Martial Arts Program is designed to empower children by teaching them how to harness their strength effectively, maintain cardiovascular fitness, and enhance flexibility and coordination. By embracing the mental and spiritual aspects of Martial Arts, students not only acquire physical skills but also develop confidence, self-control, and self-esteem. As a Martial Arts Instructor, you play a crucial role in guiding students to master a variety of skills, including but not limited to Taekwondo, Muay Thai/Boxing, Kickboxing, grappling, and self-defense. Beyond skill development, you emphasize that Martial Arts is an enjoyable and fulfilling experience for both children and adults alike. We are seeking candidates for the following shifts: Monday to Friday, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, and weekends from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Apply today!
How You Will Make an Impact (Essential Functions)
  • Create lesson plans for sessions and progression.
  • Administer instructions and tests
  • Supervise assistant instructors.
  • Ensure the classroom is clean and safe
  • Promotethe YMCA's character values, mission, wellness philosophy, and role in the community.
  • Lead by example the Y's mission, vision, and values with program participants, members, staff, and guests.
  • Become an Ambassador of the Y's work and culture by being the ultimate storyteller of who we are as an organization and brand.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Community Enterprise
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working as an instructor.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, talk, and occasionally lift and/or move items, including equipment, furniture, and/or children.
