The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Countiesis seeking aMarketing Specialistto join our Team!
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
As a Marketing Specialist, you will support the success of marketing and communications efforts for the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties, including:
- Supercharging member engagement initiatives like events, campaigns, communications, and other activities designed to spark or deepen connection
- Promoting youth and adult programs like team sports, classes, camps, aquatics, recreational activities, and virtual offerings
- Bolstering fundraising efforts like our annual and capital campaigns
- Spotlighting Y programs outside of our community centers like Child Care and the YMCA Center for Community Impact
The ideal candidate is an energetic and creative team player with exceptional people skills who has experience creating copy and developing assets for multiple marketing channels, particularly web, blog, social media, and email.
This position is supported by the Marketing and Communications team and works closely with teammates and partners across our organization, focusing on the Y's strategic priorities of member acquisition and retention, customer and staff experience, equity, and philanthropy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships across departments and serve as a point of contact between marketing and internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and achieve campaign and project goals
- Work cross-functionally with members of the marketing and communications team to ensure the on-time release of high-quality, relevant, on-brand materials
- Write, edit, and develop content, including social media, blogs, emails, and webpages
- Learn and leverage our internal project management system and marketing calendar to track your work and monitor progress toward goals
- Leverage data to make informed recommendations and decisions about future marketing opportunities
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on marketing and communications efforts
- Help identify new way to connect with our community
- Help capture and share stories of impact
- As needed, represent the Y at internal and community events
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of the Y
- Proven ability to be collaborative, organized, communicative, nimble, and creative
- 2–3 years of professional, non-internship marketing and communications experience
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment
- Experience engaging diverse communities (age, race, physical ability, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams
- Proficiency with or willingness to learn project management systems such as Monday.com
- Proficiency with or willingness to learn marketing automation systems such as Pardot and Salesforce
- Ability and willingness to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on the first day and other online and in-person training as required
Compensation: $31.48 to $33.48 per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours:Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Hybrid
