JOB PURPOSE

Under limited supervision assists with credit union promotional programs and special events. Helps design and copywrite marketing materials and coordinates the pick-up and delivery of printed materials. Assists in the preparation of member messages including statements, inserts, on-hold, and in-branch. Assists in the production of the annual report and assists in the coordination of promotional campaigns and materials. Assists in the creation of digital communications such as member emails, social media posts/videos, webpages and more. Performs administrative support duties such as: maintaining files of marketing materials, proofreading, assisting with daily deadlines, preparation of statement inserts, flyers, direct-mail pieces, posters, news releases, and various articles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND FUNCTIONS

  • Must maintain the Credit Union's policies regarding Standards of Conduct and Confidentiality.
  • Assist the Marketing Supervisor with the implementation of the Credit Union's market positioning plan.
  • Assist in copywriting, proofreading, design, and creation of various communication media including newsletters, lobby displays, on-hold messages, statement messages, receipt messages, promotions, website updates, blog posts, social media posts, advertising, brochures, etc., as directed.
  • Monitor, report and respond to all social media comments, Yelp and Google reviews regularly.
  • Conduct research of competitors' services and products with that of the Credit Union, and analyze membership base product and service usage as directed.
  • Coordinate brand ambassador champ program with the branches and perform quarterly branch audits.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and coordination of internal and external marketing promotions and projects. Make recommendations, if warranted, on marketing procedures, policies, promotions, products, and services.
  • Assist in maintaining a consistent Ventura County Credit Union brand and identity through all forms of communication and representation.
  • Assist in the coordination of member surveys, the annual meeting, annual report as well as other internal/external events and programs.
  • Under supervision, plans and coordinates member shred events.
  • Plan and write professional business correspondence to staff and members to meet the requirements of the Marketing Division.
  • Ensure timely distribution of correspondence and marketing materials to staff and members.
  • Obtain bids for all phases of the production of marketing materials, including design, printing, binding, die cutting, foil stamping, point of purchase, delivery/shipping, other production costs, etc.
  • Assist in coordinating community support activities through advertising or other means as directed.
  • Place orders and monitor the quality of printed materials and deliveries.
  • Assist in maintaining the history of the Credit Union by taking pictures, and keeping accurate records of participants and proceedings.
  • Manage inventory of collateral and novelty-item supplies and coordinate material update reviews and orders to ensure adequate and timely replenishments.
  • Maintain the integrity of the division's filing system as well as member communication archives to ensure that consistent resources and reference materials are available for future planning.
  • Become and remain knowledgeable of Credit Union products, current market trends, new technology, products, and all regulatory and compliance issues that may impact the marketing program to remain competitive and productive.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
ALL EMPLOYEES MUST QUALIFY FOR AND MAINTAIN A FIDELITY BOND
  • 4-year degree in Marketing or related field. Equivalent marketing experience will be accepted in place of a degree.
  • General knowledge of the Credit Union industry, customer service, sales, and marketing.
  • Strong copywriting and proofreading ability. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Suite and basic Graphic Design experience. Some design experience preferred in Acrobat, Illustrator, or Canva.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Credit Union personnel and the public.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Effective organizational and communication skills. Ability to be self-motivated, work independently, and manage time well. Must be able to operate all basic office equipment and must be PC proficient with Windows applications. Knowledge of software applications in Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

This position requires driving in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, therefore, you must own your own insured vehicle or have daily access to an insured vehicle, and possess a valid Driver's License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, members, and/or the general public.Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time. The person in the position will communicate often with members, employees and vendors in order to convey information and you must be able to exchange accurate information with them. You will constantly operate computer equipment using a keyboard, 10 touch keypads and other like office equipment to accurately calculate figures and input data. You will often reach on top of high cabinets for items; often position yourself to get under desks and cabinets; and constantly communicate effectively and efficiently with employees, members and vendors. The employee is frequently required to traverse across the office. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
