Job Summary:
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing strategies, creating materials, and managing marketing projects to promote brand awareness, find new leads, and generate new business opportunities. This role collaborates closely with the company sales team to support growth plans by developing innovative marketing campaigns as well as collaborating on additional sales support ideas and materials.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Craft a vision for new marketing initiatives, aligning with business goals to reach prospective and existing customers.
- Conduct market research identifying customer and industry trends, competitor offerings, and demographic data, along with evaluating methods for collecting customer data.
- Envision and manage outbound and inbound marketing activities utilizing CRM, social media platforms, and marketing campaigns.
- Oversee the posts, content, and company image on social media and public platforms.
- Collaborate with Sales and marketing agency teams to develop branding ideas, designs, and promotional materials.
- Discover and utilize effective marketing channels and media platforms to relay product/service messages to existing and prospective customers.
- Measure the success of campaigns and strategies based on performance metrics.
- Develop and manage a Brand Guide to ensure the company has a unified and cohesive brand experience making it easily recognizable and consistent.
- Manage ordering/inventory of promotional materials/swag items for distribution to prospects and clients.
- Collaborate with People Operations/Recruiting on special projects related to Talent Acquisition and the attraction of candidates.

Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business.
- 3+ years’ experience as a Marketing Specialist or similar role.
- Thorough understanding of traditional and progressive marketing tactics, including SEO.
- Strong understanding of selling principles and practices.
- Experience developing printed sales collateral and other materials for distribution.
- Experience utilizing sales and marketing software, MS Office, and Google applications.
- Knowledge of transportation, supply chain or manufacturing processes, a plus.

- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional lifting of marketing materials/swag. 30lbs or less.
- Must be able to speak easily and communicate in writing and on a telephone for varying lengths of time and in random order.

Travel required:
On demand, based upon project activity and requirements. Ability to occasionally commute to office locations independently, including Waukegan and Chicago, required.
