Marketing & Social Media Assistant Part-Time (10hrs/week)

The NOVA Thrift Shop, located on Route 313 minutes north of Doylestown, is a friendly and fun place with 7500 SF retail space. Under the supervision of the Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator, the Marketing and Social Media Assistant will join a dedicated and hardworking team of 11 staff and over 70 volunteers.

Responsibilities:

• Create and regularly publish engaging, educational, and shareable content across all Social Media channels.
• Monitor and respond to comments and messages and consistently engage with followers on all Social Media accounts.
• Collaborate with the communications team to plan content and maintain an up-to-date calendar.
• Monitor metrics across social platforms; make recommendations for optimization where appropriate.
• Design and update on-brand Social Media templates using Canva.
• Working under the supervision of the Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator, develop and implement strategies to increase followership, engagement, and visibility.
• Create and distribute engaging and informative emails and e-newsletters to various constituencies.
• Assists in creating marketing forms and materials to promote NOVA Thrift Shop per established brand guidelines.
• Internal Agency Administration:
• Meets regularly with the Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator for support, direction, supervision, and feedback.
• Communicates and collaborates with NOVA Thrift Shop Staff to increase awareness of NOVA.
• Adheres to all agency policies and procedures.
• Completes and submits all required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications:

• Commitment to NOVA’s mission and philosophy.
• A certificate or degree (Associate’s or Bachelor’s) preferred in communication, marketing, or Social Media.
• Prior experience in marketing or Social Media.
• Excellent computer skills with strong working knowledge of Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, etc.
• Experience with Canva design software required.
• Experience with video and photo editing required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience working with an intergenerational team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks with minimal direction.

Must meet PA State background check requirements (PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI Fingerprint Check) at hire and every five years after that.
NOVA is an AA/EOE. The compensation package includes the following components:

• $20 /hour
• Quarterly contribution to Profit Sharing Pension Plan (1st quarter following one year of employment)
• Voluntary contribution to 401K Plan (1st quarter following one year of employment)
