Position:
A Business Operations Intern, you will need to enjoy variety in your day-to-day schedule and tasks while being able to work independently with little or no supervision. This internship will provide first-hand operations management exposure across a variety of areas and contribute to the success of the agency. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask are imperative. The ideal candidate for this role is comfortable working in the details and supporting internal agency needs in coordination with external vendors and stakeholders.
Reports to: Jody Stout, Operations Manager
Position Type: Part-time; hourly paid internship
Expected Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, Flexible schedule equivalent to 20 hours/wk. as agreed with management
Internship Duration: 12 weeks/240 hrs. from May 21, 2023 – Aug 11, 2023 (approx. dates)
Degree Track: Must be a registered student working towards a degree in Business, Marketing, Operations, Management or a related field.
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate with vendors that support the agency business; assist with purchasing and maintaining supplies.
- Supporting the operations team’s various tasks related to traffic, accounts payable/receivable, inventory management, and recruiting.
- Assist with tracking digital media expenses.
- E-filing, data entry and other business support functions as needed.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Excel and G-Suite.
- Motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
- Professional and effective communicator.
- Resourceful and efficient with strong time-management skills.
Work Environment:
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, digital cameras, and scanners.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time.
Travel:
Travel may be limited for client meetings or other agency activities.
