Reporting to the Managing Editor, the Marketing Manager will work closely with the with authors, bookstores, and community outlets to develop and execute frontlist and backlist title campaigns to create awareness and drive sales. Additionally, the Marketing Manager will work closely with these groups to promote our books at consumer events and festivals and to continue to build the underlined brand presence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns for frontlist and backlist titles including but not limited to distributor marketing, press releases, and social media marketing
- Act as the liaison between Evening Post Books and community outlets through effectively communicating, planning, and executing book launches and events.
- Maintain a good relationship with partners such as the Charleston Library Society, Buxton Books, the Old Exchange, and more.
- Represent campaigns, event strategy, and other opportunities in meetings with authors
- Assume other tasks as delegated by the Managing Editor.
- Resolve issues as they arise.
REQUIRMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 3-4 years of experience in marketing. Book marketing is preferred
- Ability to travel locally to events and book launches
- Willingness to learn and collaborate
- Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and remain solution-oriented
- Self-motivated worker comfortable working independently as well as with a team
- Highly organized with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
- Interest in working with books
Physical Requirements, Work Environment and Travel:
This position is a hybrid remote role.
Regularly required to sit for long periods of time; close eye work on computer screen; required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, and stoop; light to moderate lifting 15-30 pounds.
The worker is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes and is sometimes subject to outside environmental conditions.
Candidates must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. Local travel in personal vehicle is required. All mileage is reimbursed.
