Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Excellence Leader serving the Seed Business Unit (BU) globally. The Marketing Excellence Leader will partner with Seed Business Unit leadership, regions, and cross-functional teams to align the organization on Corteva Agriscience’s strategy for seed, trait and technology branding as well as support the marketing plan development in priority countries. The Marketing Excellence Leader will serve as the global expert on seed branding and marketing helping to create consistency and excellence across the company. In addition, the Marketing Excellence Leader will provide project execution support to the Seed Business Unit. The Marketing Excellence Leader will report to the Business Analysis Senior Director for Corteva’s Seed Business Unit and be based in Johnston, IA Global Business Center.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the global expert on seed branding and marketing helping to create consistency and excellence across Corteva.
  • Align and support the development of the branding/marketing plans for the Seed Business Unit to align with corporate marketing strategy including comprehensive outline of deliverables and calendar for key milestones.
  • Leverage marketing best practices from regions to drive efficiencies, create consistency and increase effectiveness of product marketing across regions and brands.
  • Develop strong relationships across the marketing organizations in all regions and serve as advisor on marketing strategy/implementation, working with key stakeholders on value propositions, benefit statements, and narratives for our priority crop focus areas.
  • Develop and support global seed branding strategy, education, and implementation enhancing acumen across the organization.
  • Lead new brand development for global pipeline launches and support branding for major regional pipeline launches.
  • Provide coaching and counsel to regional teams on brand strategy implementation, including new brand development and direction on existing brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate and align with external affairs supporting major regional and global advocacy needs for new or existing seed brands/products. Advocacy needs could include serving on advocacy teams representing the Seed BU, identifying, and escalating advocacy needs, supporting LRTS through marketing, branding, and communication alignment.
  • Shape, influence, and reinforce the Corteva’s corporate brand identity and positioning within our seed branding strategy; capture hearts and minds of (internal) stakeholders through a mix of data-driven insight and compelling storytelling
  • Maintain a forward-thinking mindset, anticipating marketing, communications, and public relations needs on behalf of the Seed BU for internal and external audiences. Strong collaborate closely with Seed BU Communications team.
  • Remain in sync with Corteva corporate, R&D, and crop protection on branding, marketing, and communications avoiding potential missteps in the market or across the company.
  • Engage regarding the future Seed CRM strategy to support Seed BU branding and marketing.
  • Provide marketing and project execution support to the Seed BU.
  • This role may evolve over time to adapt to changes in processes, connections, and organizational design to best meet the needs of Corteva and the Seed Business Unit.

Qualifications

What Skills You Need:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture/Marketing/Business or other related discipline is required. Will consider other degrees with related marketing and/or field sales experience.
  • Minimum of ten years in the industry with relevant marketing experience including hands-on experience in developing campaigns and promotions.
  • Ability to see the big picture with understanding of short and long-term impacts of decisions.
  • Must have strong business acumen and market understanding. Familiarity with seed and agricultural markets, customers/target audiences, and competitors.
  • Shall possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to create networks and lead by influence demonstrating strong collaboration and teamwork skills to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Strong self-management, personal leadership, and listening skills required. Demonstrated written and oral communication skills accompanied by strong presentation abilities.
  • A creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to inform decisions.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail with above average project leadership abilities, managing multiple projects at one time and adhering to deadlines.
  • Candidate should plan for ~15% of their time allocated to business travel annually.
