Crawford Group is seeking a Marketing Copywriter - Media Events to join our client's team in New York. The Marketing Copywriter will be responsible for writing engaging copy for Live Experiences marketing campaigns and social channels. Live Experiences deliver compelling, news-making convenings that harness the power of the global, wide-reaching newsroom and enable premium audiences with the actionable insights and meaningful connections they need to succeed in work and in life. This role will be responsible for delivering best in class creative copy, by delivering messaging objectives in line with the company's tone of voice. This role will collaborate closely with the in-house creative team, marketing and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Create compelling and engaging marketing copy that will drive attention and awareness to the slate of Live Experiences events
Translate editorial themes and creative briefs into copy that amplifies messages and resonates with the audience
Come up with creative campaign concepts from small to large-scale marketing initiatives
Positively reflect the brand and how the company shows up to a various groups of consumers and potential event attendees
Have a deep understanding of an audience and channel first approach
Understands marketing objectives and how to write copy across brand-led and sales-led messaging
Understands the nuances of marketing channels, including organic social, paid social, paid media, email, website, TV, digital and print ads and fluency writing across them
Understands the needs of different audiences and how to speak to their needs by adapting tone and voice
Understand creative best practices and partner closely with designers
Self-manage multiple projects with hard deadlines
Have an interest in media, live events and the topics Live Experiences covers
Have a curious mindset and be eager to dive deeper into relevant subject matter
Stay informed on the competitive landscape
Have the ability to rework longer form copy to meet organic social objectives, including CTAs to drive next steps
Incorporate feedback in a thorough, accurate and timely manner
Qualifications:
4+ years’ of experience as a copywriter. This includes writing for Marketing campaigns, advertising campaigns, printed collateral, event materials, email/social, video copy.
Proven experience in writing compelling marketing copy for events, brand or advertising campaigns
A strong portfolio of work to share as part of the application process, with examples relevant to marketing campaigns that support event promotion, experiences and installations
The ability to translate briefs into copy with little to no direction
Experience in agency, media or entertainment industry a plus
Ideally has an understanding of holistic marketing comms planning
Ideally has a basic understanding of UX writing
Basic understanding of SEO copywriting is a plus
Location: New York City; Expectation to be in office 4 days per work week
Duration: 9-10 month contract that is Full-time
Rate: $45-$49/hour. W-2 consultant of Crawford Group; benefits available (Our salary ranges are determined based on skills, experience and location)
