Summary: The purpose of the Marketing Assistant is to assist the MM in achieving Carolina Mornings’ revenue, growth, and branding goals via high-quality written content. The Marketing Assistant will fulfill the following responsibilities in order to assist in achieving these goals.
Reports to: Marketing Manager (MM)
Responsibilities May Include:
Website and Marketing Copywriting
- In a Carolina Mornings writing voice, develop copy for individual property pages, website landing pages, email blasts and social media posts.
- Create high-quality descriptions, meta titles and meta descriptions for new and existing landing pages.
- Generate blog posts (Minimum 1 per month, 2000-3000 words in length)
Handle property description adjustments on company websites and all listing sites
- Review underperforming listings & adjust descriptions as needed to maximize marketability (Minimum 5 per week, 700-1000 characters in length)..
- Adjust channel short descriptions quarterly to highlight the best attributions of the home over different booking seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter).
- Audit listings quarterly for potential discrepancies, and adjust listings as needed.
Social Media Marketing
- Post regularly on Carolina Mornings’ Facebook (5x per week), Instagram (5x per week), and Google My Business (1x per week) highlighting new properties, CM-specific deals and unique weather or events in the area.
- Work to expand Carolina Mornings social media presence on other social media sites, including: Pinterest, TikTok, Reddit, Youtube, and LinkedIn , with a focus on revenue generation and remarketing past guests.
- Respond to customer social media messaging and reviews, forwarding booking inquiries to our Reservations Department.
Assist MM in various projects, data research, collection, and analysis as needed, including, but not limited to:
- Campaign efficiency analysis and report
- Unit efficiency
- Competition tracking
- Market research
Qualifications:

Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree preferred, or relevant experience
- A background in SEO copywriting and/or email marketing preferred
Communication Skills
- Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Must maintain clear and concise documentation with attention to detail and organization.
- Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent follow through skills
- Be able to capture and replicate our unique voice and aesthetics across all tasks
- Self-starter who can take on new projects and solve problems independently
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Computer and Mathematical Skills
- Strong computer literacy, particularly, Windows, MS Office Suite and Google Suite
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
