Benjamin Cox and Associates (a 4-person team) runs an executive education program for a world-class university. We focus on teaching ESG and natural capital management to the extractive resources industry. We also do some consulting on the side.
We want a crackerjack marketing person to manage our social media, pitch packages, live events (primarily online), and customer acquisition. We offer a position with true work/life balance and the opportunity to work with a cool team (at least we think we are). We value diversity and see this role as perfect for someone wanting to transition back into the workforce after taking time off for family. We need about 25 hours per week, and the ideal hours are 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM PST; we can adjust for people if they have school pickup/drop off to manage.
We are willing to give two weeks of paid vacation and up to 8 weeks off. The end of July-late August is a quiet period. Similarly, we will close the office between December 15 and January 2.
The job is in Beaverton, Oregon. Unfortunately, remote work isn’t an option.
- Maintaining and focusing on LinkedIn marketing
- Setting up, managing, and doing follow-up for Lunch and Learns.
- Building infographics and formatting presentations
- Organizing proposal and pitch packages.
- Maintaining lead lists and making sure the MD is following up
- Managing production and posting of two short videos per month for Linkedin.

High-priority software skills our team is looking for a potential candidate are:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word and PowerPoint are a must)
- Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
- Social Media and Content Creator Tools (such as Canva or others)
- Video editing software (either Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, or Final Cut Pro)
- Ad management platforms (LikendIn ads and marketing is highly valuable)
- Meme generator platforms
Relevant software skills that are considered a plus are:
- Customer Relationship Management \Systems (Salesforce, among others)
- Email marketing tools
- Basic knowledge of web development tools
What education/experience do we want you to have
- Ideally, a marketing degree, but any educational background can work
- You must be proficient in English to a college level, but we will pay for Grammarly Pro. We embrace diversity and work globally, so knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Marketing experience would be lovely.
- CSR/ESG would be a bonus
Base pay is $25-30 per hour on a W2 basis. There are no benefits, and the bulk of the team is remote. One other person works out of the office (his house), and the kids live there but are in school full-time.
